haPPIE Academy exists because too many voices are unheard, too much knowledge is overlooked, and too many people are excluded from shaping the systems that affect their lives.

We believe lived experience is expertise. We believe learning should lead to action. And we believe change happens best when people feel safe, valued, and part of something bigger than themselves.

haPPIE Academy brings together community members, students, NHS staff, and partners to work alongside each other on real projects that improve health, care, and equity. This is not theoretical. It is grounded, relational, and deeply human.

Too often, communities are asked for their views without care, feedback, or follow-through. Too often, people give their time without knowing where their contribution goes or whether it makes a difference.
We set out to change that.
